Lost Pictures

In the midst of my NY withdrawals, I have been looking through my pictures and reminiscing. Then I realised I haven't shared so many of these beautiful photos I took, so I thought I'd post them. I know it's late, but it's better late than never, right?

These were all took in Central Park. Looking back it feels like so long ago or like a dream. Walking through the park was something I really loved doing, even by myself. It was so serene and if I was in a bad mood I would still feel so peaceful. I feel like I'd get lost then somehow find my way again. I'm really bad at navigating so getting lost was pretty easy haha!

Goodbye New York

Hey guys,

So my love affair with the Big Apple has come to an end as I move back to London from one of the best periods of my life. I'm actually really sad, even though London will always be home, New York City is just one of a kind and I feel so lucky to have been able to live in such an amazing city! I would absolutely love to live in NY again, so at least I know what I'm working towards... I actually have too many things I'm working towards. I need to chill, haha! 

There are a few things I'm enjoying about home, mainly my bed, family and friends. It's weird being back after half a year because it almost feels like a distant memory or dream. On top of that, I was so damn jet lagged that life didn't feel real for a few days there. 

These pictures were taken on one of my last days in the city, while I was saying bye to the Upper East Side *sobs*. This is right near the Met, which is an absolutely gorgeous museum and building, by the way! It's where some of Gossip Girl was filmed (the school steps) as well as the host of the annual Met Gala! 

This outfit is something I've been wearing quite a bit, especially during my last two weeks in New York, when the majority of my clothing had already been taken back home. I love the camel coat and denim together as they complement each other so nicely. And can we just take a moment to appreciate this bag please? I saw it on Shirley's blog a hot while ago but never had the guts to buy it 'till now because I feel like I'm too short for some larger bags, haha! I know it sounds crazy but if you know, you know. I swear Zara's stuff is made for tall, slim women, and I am quite the opposite so it's a struggle. 
Shout out to those of you that feel my pain!

In a New York Minute

I'm sitting here looking at the date and realised it's almost two months since I arrived in New York, and thought it's about time I give ya'll a little update on my travels. 

I'm living in uptown Manhattan, which works quite well because the metro takes you anywhere. And of course when all else fails, there's about a million yellow cabs all over the island ;)

I've done quite a bit since I arrived but here is a small list of non-touristy ideas of what to do in the city:

1) Go to Central Park: Its HUGE, and a nice place to visit when you need peace from the busy city. And every trip will be different. Just make sure you have battery on your phone incase you get lost and need google maps, and to take those pics. Its nice also a nice place to bring lunch to and have a picnic. 

2) Visit a roof top bar: This is all my friends and I did the first month whenever we'd go out for drinks. Who wants a drink in a regular bar when you can have a drink with a view of the sky line? There are so many but my most visited would be the Standard Hotel. 

3) Go to a ball game: I was fortunate enough to get tickets from my college to a Yankee game and it was such an experience. The atmosphere was crazyyy and I was even on the big screen :D

4) Go on a boat cruise on the Hudson River: I don't know how accessible this is to tourists but I got to go on a boat cruise with my college for orientation and it was so gorgeous! Going in the evening is the best because you get to see the sun set. 

5) Visit Bryant Park: Honestly, every time I go to this park there is something new going on. The first time I went, I watched The Shining with the Summer Film Festival. The next time, there was a square dancing event, and now they're putting in an ice skating rink... and it's just generally a really cute park in the middle of Manhattan surrounded by all the sky scrapers. 

I could go on about the million and one things there are to do in the city but these are my top five :)

Iceland Bound

Hey lovelies!

Hope you're all well and enjoying the summer. I am currently midway through my yearly trip to my homeland, Iceland :D I'm so happy to be home and to see my family but I couldn't neglect my blog any longer, and this way you get to see my beautiful country. The weather has been really crap here all summer so I do regret not spending more time with the sun in London but to be honest I don't get out as much there as I do when I'm in Iceland so maybe it's for the best.. XD haha!

I love this outfit, I usually wear it evening time when I want to be dressed up/smart/casual. Obviously it's not intended for a day out around Iceland but I couldn't pass on an opportunity to show you all the scenery so I had to set it up! Another option: I would also wear this with a nice statement necklace and a high bun to make the outfit more chic. Hope you liked!
