So, London Fashion Week is coming to a close and I'm so excited to share what I got up to! I attended some shows across the first three days with my girl Seema Kukadia. I honestly feel so blessed to be attending shows that I worked backstage at a few years ago (and trust me, it isn't as glam as you may think).
Somehow, I chose this outfit like 20 minutes before I left the house and my hair was thanking me for the hat choice all day because it rained so much! I just wanted to go for something comfortable yet chic because I knew I'd be running from show to show all day. But, of course, my feet still got blisters and cuts. Not a good start to the week, Habba, smh.
The first show I attended was the Jamie We Huang catwalk, titled 'Nibbana.' I love how the collection mixed soft fabrics and silhouettes with leather accents and metal hardware.
I also spotted one of my favourite fashion bloggers, Yanin, from I Dress Myselff! I had a bit of a fan girl moment, not gonna lie. She's in a few of the pictures above.
The second show was the Gyo Yuni Kimchoe catwalk, entitled 'Enlightened Rebel.' There was a strong punk influence, with the makeshift mohawks, distressed clothing and accessories, mixed with sustainability and a Buddhist motif. I also loved the way the collection incorporated the pinstripe trend, which I am currently in love with!
Following this, we stopped for a quick coffee break and picture taking session. A must at this point in the day. I tried the Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks for the first time, which kept me going for the rest of the day. Follow me on Instagram for more up-to-date pictures of my days: habbaheimisdottir
The final catwalk of the day was the Lulu Liu show. Having worked this show backstage a few years ago, I loved seeing how the designer had evolved. Liu used the Flamenco dance to inspire this collection, focusing on the feminine silhouette and using the brands signature weaving technique throughout. Such a beautiful collection!
I then attended the Shao Yen presentation, which was a screening of the latest collection. I always love seeing new ways designers are showcasing their work. I felt inspired to look at my own work from a different angle after the show. And the wine was a great way to end the day!
Seema and I then stumbled across this collection presentation. I'm not 100% sure what it was but I loved the pieces, so I thought I'd share the pictures anyway! :)
I thoroughly enjoyed day 1 of LFW and despite being absolutely shattered, I managed to make it to all the shows the next day. So stay tuned for that!
